Priscilla Chan - A story of self-transformation

Image is more than just shopping for the latest fashion. Learning to project a high-quality image from a qualified professional saves time and money and leads to personal and business success.

Having experienced a major transformation in her own life, Priscilla Chan fully understand this process and its benefits. She shares her experience professionally to help clients beyond superficial advice. Having lived her early years in the small city in Yuen Nan, she has turned benefits of her own image transformation into a successful career. Priscilla is now determined to help women in China by giving them the tools they need to succeed on the international stage.

Priscilla's first experience of the power of image came at the tender age of 12 when she moved with her family to Hong Kong. It was a big shock as everything was so new and she found a big gap between herself and others her age. She didn't dare talk to people because she thought they were better than her, even just in term of appearance. With no confidence in communication, her challenges in terms of language, lifestyle and friendships were great and often painful. She remembers her excitement in buying a new suit for the Chinese New Year when she was 13. Stepping outside, she saw a woman over forty dressed the same as her and was so embarrassed that she never wore it again.

Priscilla started studying how to dress when working for more than 10 years in a fashion company where she copied her beautiful boss and read fashion magazines. Still, she experienced deep disappointment when she never received compliments from people around her. When clients visited from overseas, she sat as a listener, unable to communicate well with any of them. She struggled to understand why her progress was so slow even though she tried so hard to learn.

In 2002, Priscilla attended FIDM, a fashion college in Los Angeles, to learn fashion marketing. While her fashion sense improved and she started to get compliments from people around her, she still lacked confidence in communication in certain environments. The attention she desired eluded her when visiting major fashion houses like Ralph Lauren and Max Mara.

A decision to upgrade her communication skills changed all that and she began learning with Diana Olson, her first image teacher. As she continued learning with different image masters in the image industry, she began to understand that good image projection involves much more than beautiful clothes. Studying the language of clothes, body language and business and social etiquette led to a new sense of confidence and she came to enjoy being with people in many situations. Now, the attention she desires comes easily and she has become well respected by people from all walks of life.

The doors of opportunity opened more and more.

During a trip to several cities in China at the end of 2003, Priscilla discovered a great gap between the shiny modern structures and the people living in them. From her own personal and professional experience, she realized quickly that this is an unhealthy situation. She is now more determined than ever to contribute her unique talent as a modern Chinese woman. Her personal goal is to help people who would like to advance themselves by learning to communicate well and bridge these gaps in our expanding global community.
